Perhaps, that is the reason why it is viewed as an ancient natural catastrophe.

What is more interesting that this giant beast, whose powers Naruto has often utilized, is quite intelligent and also possesses a distinct sense of honor and pride. But despite that it indulges in mass destruction and has an attitude of pure malice sadistic and sarcastic personality.

It was his attraction to places of human malice that made the demon fox attack Konohagakure, when Naruto was just a newborn baby. With none of the villages being able to vanquish him, Naruto’s father, Minato Namikaze, who was also the Fourth Hookage, used the Dead Demon Consuming Seal to confine the demon inside the body of his newborn son, Naruto. Hey friends! Anime USA 2009 is just around the corner and all you Naruto fans who live in and around Arlington, have just got one more reason to be present at the convention. Well guys, voice actor Steve Bum, who has been lending his voice to Orochimaru, the primary antagonist in the animated series, is to make an appearance at the convention.

Steve Bum is one of the most creative voice actors of America, who has made a name for himself through his voice over works for numerous video games and animated shows like Naruto. There might be other prominent guests who could make an appearance at the event, but I know that the fans of Naruto TV show would definitely be excited about Steve Bum’s visit.

I am really unfortunate that, I can’t attend the convention as I have a very important exam on the very same day. In no other condition would I have missed the opportunity to see the main villain of my favorite animated series Naruto, in person.

Hearing Steve’s voice on the show has already made me a great fan of his and even though I have huge collection of his pictures, I would really love to meet him personally.

I have found that many people do not like actors who portray the character of an antagonist and Steve is no exception. But I find it strange because I feel that an antagonist is actually the one character that makes a show interesting. Now, imagine what Naruto would have been without the character of Orochimaru and Akatsuki. I don’t think many of us would have loved to watch the show.

This is why I feel that a villainous character of any show needs to be appreciated at least as much as the protagonist. Had it not been for these shady characters, Naruto or any other series for that matter, would seem monotonous and dull. It is only the activities of these villains that create interesting twists and turns in the storyline of a show.

Hey friends! Naruto has entertained us for many years and even though the show stopped airing in January this year, it has retained a special place in the hearts of millions of fans. When the show was on air, I often wondered what culture and society Naruto belonged to. I mean, we all knew that he was a Japanese ninja warrior, but beyond that we knew very little about the place he came from. So I decided to learn more about the society to which Naruto belonged and as I have gained some knowledge, I am here to share the same with you.

Naruto belongs to a world which is similar to our own world in many ways but at the same time is also quite different from it. His world, like ours, is divided into countries that function as independent political units. The five most dominant countries, which along with some other smaller unexplored countries form Naruto’s world, are the Land of Earth, the Land of Fire, the Land of Lightning, the Land of Water, and the Land of Wind. These five countries are also known as the “Five Great Shinobi Nations” and each country is ruled by a feudal lord.

In the world of Naruto, the countries are further divided into hidden villages which are managed by leaders who are given the title of Kage. The leaders of the hidden villages are treated at par with the leaders of the particular country. The villages are populated by ninjas, who are warriors and posses supernatural abilities that they can make use of during a conflict. These villages earn revenue for their country by imparting training to young ninjas, who then carry out various assignments for other countries. These ninjas also serve as their country’s defense forces.

So, this is basically how Naruto’s world is organized. Don’t you find many similarities with our very own world?

For all those fans who love card games, the collectible card game of Naruto is a must play.
In the year 2003, February, Bandai launched in Japan these cards for the very first time which was followed by a North American release in the English language after three years that is in 2006, April.
So how is one supposed to play this game?
Two players are needed to play this game who pick up a custom - made fifty cards deck from the whole set. Apart from this a game mat is needed, and also something which can be used to jot down as to whose turn comes when. Apart from this you should have what is termed as a “Ninja Blade Coin”, yes the very same one which is always used for flipping when it comes to making choices.

The winner of this game is the one who has gained at least ten number of “battle rewards” in the course of the game or when the opponent has finished up all his cards.
All these collectible cards are grouped up in sets which are termed “series” which are four in number and have fifty cards each, contained in specially made boxes. Now these sets all have some specific features like the game mat, starter deck, a turn - counter and the “Ninja Blade Coin” which is a beautiful piece of stainless steel.
Apart from this, if you want you can purchase more ten card booster packs and even deck sets which have all four boxes for every series. Then a friend of mine was gifted once, a tin box that had cards of each set, with many booster packs and some special promo cards.
You all will be surprised to know that from 2006, October onwards; about seventeen series have been launched in Japan all of which have unique cards, about four hundred and seventeen in number. But only ten of these have arrived in America I am told.
So, go ahead, I know the TV series will always be more fun but the game is good as well, try it.

For the young fans of Naruto, I must say, the Naruto light novels are a must read. Masatoshi Kusakabe has written these two novels, which Viz has brought into America, translating them from the original Japanese version to English one.
The story line of the first novel is based on the first arc of the TV show. If you recall, it was the one which ignited this whole Naruto phenomenon. This particular book which came into America on 21st November, 2006 (Much later than its original version came in Japanese on 16th December, 2002), was named, Naruto: Innocent Heart, Demonic Blood.

The next one was named Naruto: Mission: Protect the Waterfall Village! And its content is all related to the second arc of the series. It was released in the States on 16th October, 2007. This one has done an amazing business and some reports I read, say it has done much more business than the first one.
If anyone of you has missed it, I think you surely should read it. These books also make up for great gifts for young people these days. What better present than a book, and what better book I say, than a Naruto one?

These were the Japanese novels, which were translated in English. Now Viz has started a series of novels which are authored by Tracey West. Named Chapter Books, these have illustrations which have been picked from the manga series of Naruto. Even though its target readership is kids between seven to ten years of age, I am not at all apologetic about reading the same.
